Maxi Knit + Quilted Leather Skirt

September 29, 2014

I always loved dressing myself in oversized clothing. I guess it really shows through my love for oversized sweaters, boyfriend jeans, baggy shirts, and now, maxi cardigans. While there's always the risk of looking like everything you wear are hand-me-downs, oversized pieces generally provide a feeling of effortlessness and coziness -- why do you think girls like stealing their boyfriend's sweaters (besides the fact that you can be reminded of him by his scent all the time)?

The weather around this time of the year is always weird, and how better to dress for that than by ironically wearing irregular pieces too. Aside from feeling like you're superwomen because you have this cape fluttering behind you as you take each steps, a maxi sweater is also great for covering up while wearing something as sturdy as a leather mini skirt (yes, you can walk up the stairs without having you hold down your skirt with your hands). Plus, because a leather skirt for everyday wear can be seen as a little too luxe, a knit component like this maxi cardigan can also help tone it down. With all this said, I hope that you give maxi cardigans a try as well as quilted leather skirts! They're easier to style than you think!

I also have some exciting projects coming up in the next few months, so I hope you stay tuned!
