January 4, 2017

It just didn’t feel right to leave the blog on silent as I ring in 2017. 2016 has been a year full of firsts and 2017 has already been nothing but better firsts.

So hi. Hello from Tokyo where I’m resting up from a wonderful 3 days in Kyoto. After numerous times to Japan, I don’t know why I haven’t been to Kyoto until now. Without feeling the jet lag due to the high I’ve been floating on, I just came to realize how exhausted I was from all of the hikes and sightseeing these past few days. From the 2 hour climb through thousands of torii gates at Fushimi-Inari to stumbling across a nearly empty Bamboo-Grove at Arashiyama on New Year’s day - I just feel like my whole existence went through a spiritual detox.

While my body is sore, my mind has never been more awake and inspired.

Even while I was in school, I was kinda always an underachiever. Winning is fun for me, but overcoming is my definition of succeeding. I don’t set the bar that high for myself since I know I’m always the one that’s hardest on me.

With that in mind, my resolutions are simple.

Travel intently.
Manage my finances better.
Go a little easier on myself.

I hope you guys had an amazing start to the year. Your time will come. Stay motivated and just be ready for all opportunities.

I hope you’ll stick around with me for what this year has in stored.

Can’t wait to share the rest of my trip!
