Not that anyone's going to notice, but this turtleneck sweater vest is literally three of this year's biggest trends meshed in one. Let's break it down, the padded shoulders is one, the mock turtleneck is two, and of course, the sleeveless factor making it a sweater vest is the third. All of a sudden, this 90's trend is making a big comeback this Fall, and possibly for Spring, too. Surely, we are collectively wishing that 2020 was either over or didn't exist at all, but so many trends lately have been showing our yearnings for the good old 90's days again.
While I'm not often one to hop onto seasonal trends, I gravitated towards these sweater vests because of their versatility for layering in the Fall and Winter. I'm already picturing color-blocking them with ribbed knits or long sleeve bodysuits or turtlenecks. A little oversized and they are perfect to go with the new pair of knee-high boots that I've been posting about. I'm also looking forward to even pairing them with something sheer and sparkly underneath to stay cozy and festive for the holidays.
