On A Colder Note

The saying goes, "if you can't beat them, join them." On one of the coldest days in my entire life, this is what I decided was best to wear - and besides my cold feet, I didn't regret it at all. It was NYFW day 2, so I knew I wanted to bring some flare to the streets and I did (sort of).

The winter layering game in New York is complicated; sometimes you want to look like the cold just doesn't phase you at all and other times you want to look like you belong in Russia. At Lincoln Center, the main event menu, I saw so many people dressed up like it was Spring (don't even get me started on people who didn't wear tights/leggings) and I also saw others who look like they weight an extra hundred pounds because of their furry/puffy coats.

Me, as a passerby at Lincoln Center, I wore underneath that stripe shirt: a tank top, a long sleeve shirt with the cardigan and leather jacket on top (for a grand total of 5 layers ladies and gents).

Every time I've worn this maxi cardigan, my immediate thought is to pair it with something leather (here's an example from this summer). But from these photos, it's hard to disagree that leather and knit is an attractive combination. I also decided to stick to white pants in efforts to blend in with the snow since it's official -- I've joined the cold.

I hope you enjoy this post, and may our dreams and wishes for Spring to arrive already come true soon.
