January 22, 2015

It's been a while, but after taking two weeks off to recover from the flu, I'm finally back. With the new year rolling over, there were some changes I had to make in order to feel fresh and ready to tackle everything that I'm anticipating this year. I've been making some big investments for my wardrobe as well as cleaning out some old clothes. I even got a fresh haircut to get rid of the left-over colors at the ends of my hair.

With the weather being constantly freezing, pretty much, I've been wearing the same thing everyday. Props to those who can brave the cold for winter photo shoots for blogs, but I can barely take 5 minutes.

When temperatures are this low, I always resort to my coat layering trick. I love layering two coats or 2coatz (haha not sorry for the hood reference) because when done properly, it'll transform your old coat into something uniquely new. The shearling jacket from the Piperlime Collection together with my Theory coat was a match made in heaven since they're both asymmetrical and the fur added a luxe touch to my everyday charcoal coat. My tip for this layering trick is stick to similar colors or tones but if you're into something more bold, you can definitely try a light washed jean jacket under a moto jacket. Also, it is important to pay attention to the zipper/button style of your jackets or coats as well since you want them to align and reveal their details.

Would really love to know what you guys think, and I'll be sure to share some more jacket layering looks with you guys in the future as well :)
Have a great weekend!
