I’ve always been attracted to red. It’s just one of those colors that demand attention and something we are humanly trained to recognize as some kind of danger warning signs. Especially when it comes to food, red, automatically conveys to me something’s spicy. It’s crazy to note how much we all follow suit to hold up these universal truths or beliefs without kind of really investigating where they even came from.

When I have down time, the books that I find myself getting lost in aren’t fictions or nonfictions, but rather books on theories and philosophical reasonings. More so than educating myself, I find that it’s great exercise for the mind.

To think about the way someone else thinks, is quite intimate. Don’t you think?

While I do like to think, I talk a lot too. I know it’s so annoying when I just don’t shut up over dinner about an idea that sparked in my head from something someone said 5 hours ago.

One of the things I like most about traveling to some of these remote and obscure places is not that they make me feel unique or special, but rather because I just want to experience something without the influence of what I’ve already seen or visualized via say, Instagram.

Traveling for me is a little different than it is for others. I’m traveling not really to push myself out of my comfort zones, but rather out of my bubble of curiosity. I don’t like being uncomfortable and I’ll admit that I’m quite spoiled when I’m on the road. We all have a different way to live, so I won’t sit here and pretend like I’m some deep-souled adventurer or cultured person whatever.

There was a lot of personal takeaways that I came home with from Cappadocia. The geography here is insane. I never thought I’d marvel so wildly at rock formations or brave enough to look down 800 feet from a basket in the air. I found myself looking at dirt roads in a different way and had fun incorporating weeds into my photos (something I don’t think you see often in my photographs, haha).

If you find yourself here, don’t just think of the hot air balloons.
