Contrast

September 5, 2014

September has always been a hectic start for me. School, work, and everything decides to demand my full attention all at the very same time. This year is my last year of college, so it's a little bittersweet. Although I could say that I can't wait to just graduate a million times, deep down inside, I'm not ready for the real world yet.

When it comes to complications, I always try to keep things simple---it's the only way for me to remain sane. I used to be that person that highly valued first impressions, so I always spent way too much time getting ready and ended up being late everywhere. Over the years though, I've learned that the best way to first impress someone is by simply being myself.

Ironically, being myself was as basic as it gets. I'm not a heels or fancy shoe person. I like simple shoes, mostly espadrilles and pointed toe flats. When it comes to bottoms, I own like 10 pairs of the same black pants (they're all somehow different, trust me!). The same goes for all of my white tees too! Minimalism is the way to go for me, but simple doesn't always have to be plain. For instance, lately, I've been really into lace-y and delicate undergarments too. It's subtle, yet when revealed, it shows sophistication and that says a lot about me because I'm a sucker for small details.
This particular outfit resembles much of what I'll be wearing many times in the next couple of weeks or so, until everything settles down. I hope that you have a wonderful start to September. Also, don't forget to check out my list of essential basics!
