A Neutral Affair

December 1, 2014

I always bring a special pair of shoes with me when I go away. Sure, if I could bring all of my shoes, that would be great too, but for a short 3-day stay in New Orleans, my Valentino Rockstud flats were perfect. I'll admit, I'm not much of a heels girl (since I'm not very good at handling myself in them) so these Valentino Rockstud flats have always served as my go-to fancy shoes.

While traveling, more than sightseeing, I love exploring restaurants. The 3 days I spent in New Orleans were filled with so many delicious meals. I was able to try some local food as well as some contemporary dishes inspired by the traditional food of New Orleans in fancier restaurants (where these shoes belong). One thing I've learned over the years is to dress appropriately for restaurants, it completely changes how your waiters and waitresses will treat you and that will affect your whole dining experience.

Anyhow, for this look I kept it very neutral with my new favorite camel sweater. I was lucky enough to come across the last size XXS at Aritzia, and I've been told that it's corporately sold out! The sweater is extremely light and warm since it's cashmere blend wool (I highly recommend looking for this combination for winter apparels). And even though the sweater is a size XXS, as you can see, it's still quite oversized on me. I'm also obsessed with this sleek turtleneck since it's just the right height and not so bulky like many of the ones I've come across this season. If you're interested in hunting for this sweater, test your luck at a local Aritzia store, maybe you'll come across one like me.
